The simpler a product is, the more uses it will (usually) offer. Simplicity equals versatility. That's why The Writer's Glove was designed to be simple: a thin, warm glove for typing. The problems that such a glove could solve for will seek it out. That's versatility.
The opposite is to build a solution to a specific problem. This narrows the use cases. There is value in doing that, but for utilitarian products like The Writer's Glove, it doesn't make sense.
