A Letter From Ben - Thanks for being a part of The Writer's Glove
Customers play a big part in The Writer's Glove. I don't mean that in a sterile "we value your business" sort of way. I mean that they are integral to the evolution and success of a tiny business that started in an unfinished basement in Minnesota.
For example, this 40% off Black Friday sale? Customers voted on that. They made it happen. I put a major business decision--how to run Black Friday--into their hands.
That would be crazy at most businesses, but it's normal at The Writer's Glove. We're on Version 3 (aka V3) of The Writer's Glove, and it only exists due to customer feedback about previous versions.
I don't sit on a throne and issue decrees. For one, I can't. This is too small of a business for that. For two, no one knows everything. It's tough to admit it as an entrepreneur who needs to project confidence, but I have blind spots I don't even realize are there. Customers step in where I can't. In a way, they're our executive team.
The end result? A great product that helps people enjoy their lives just a little bit more. That's something special, and I don't take it for granted. Thank you.
I also want to take a moment to publicly thank my family for supporting The Writer's Glove. It was a leap of faith to say the least. When I told my wife I wanted to start a glove business, she said to me, "That's fine, but don't spend a lot of money on it." She's tolerated my working away into the long hours of the night ever since. If she's reading this, I love you and I thank you for putting up with my shenanigans.
That's where your dollars end up, by the way. They don't go to some bank or investment group. They quite literally allow my family to thrive. That's me, my wife, two small children, two dogs, a cat, and all our loved ones.
That's why your participation in The Writer's Glove means so much to me. A lot of life happens at a keyboard. I hope these gloves unlock as much for you as they do for me.
Sincerely,
Ben Sobieck
